de la Rosa standing in for Perez in Montreal

Published on by Kevdawg

Two weeks ago, we saw a horrific accident caused by Sergio Perez during qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix. The young Mexican suffered a concussion and some pain in his legs.

Perez had been trying hard to get himself back into shape so he would be able to race in the Canadian Grand Prix today in Montreal. He had been training his fitness and eating healthy meals plus getting as much rest as possible. He started feeling better right away and was sure he would pass the FIA Medical Test to get into the race. And he did pass the test. So the FIA cleared him to race.

However, Sergio started feeling not as well as he did before. He said to the media that he was not feeling one hundred percent. After hearing about this, the FIA decided to test Perez again. The result was not as good as before. They announced that Perez would not take part in the event and it was up to Sauber to find a replacement driver for the weekend.

Peter Sauber went up to Pedro de la Rosa first and asked him if he wanted to drive this weekend. Pedro happily responded yes so it was a deal.

So don't be surprised when you don't se Perez. He is just fine and you will see him in Valencia, Spain for the European Grand Prix.
